Ivy Moon The Journey
The creation of Ivy Moon is the culmination of a lifetime of experiences, deeply rooted in my upbringing and the magical environment in which I was raised. Growing up with a Pagan heritage, I was surrounded by a profound connection to nature, the cycles of the Earth, and the unseen energies that flow through all living things. From a young age, I was taught to honour the land, listen to its whispers, and embrace the magic that lay hidden in every corner of the natural world.
One of the most formative influences in my life was the garden of my grandparents’ home in West Dorset, a truly magical place where I spent countless hours as a child. Their garden was a sanctuary of beauty, life, and transformation. My grandparents were extraordinary in their ability to grow anything. From delicate, vibrant flowers to bountiful fruit trees and vegetables, their garden seemed to possess an energy of its own, one that nourished not only the body but the soul. I can still remember the scent of the greenhouse, thick with ripe tomatoes, as my grandad taught me how to pinch out the side shoots of the tomatoes to encourage them to grow stronger. He would show me how to nurture the plants with care and patience, and the result was always a rich harvest—masses of crops that were a testament to his knowledge and love for the Earth.
My nana, too, had her expertise. She was devoted to her prized heathers, which flanked the garden slope like a patchwork carpet of purples, pinks, and whites. I remember walking alongside her as she carefully tended to her plants, making sure each one had the right balance of sunlight and water. It was in those quiet moments that she taught me the art of tending to life with tenderness and respect. Nestled among the heathers, snowdrops, snakeshead fritillary, primroses and other delicate little plants would peek out from the earth, as though announcing the arrival of spring. Each bloom was a small miracle, and I learned to see the beauty and wonder in even the smallest things.
The garden wasn’t the only place where the magic of my childhood unfolded. The house itself was alive with its own brand of energy. From a young age, I was aware that the house was full of spirits—spirits that seemed to be woven into the very fabric of the home. We would frequently see shadows moving across the rooms, hear strange, unexplained sounds like banging, thumping, and clattering, and sometimes witness keys turning in locks or items being thrown. There were voices too—whispers and chatter that couldn’t be placed, and full-body apparitions that occasionally appeared. The house, much like the garden, was filled with energy—an energy that seemed to connect the past and present, blending the mystical with the earthly.
Now, as an adult, I live in very rural West Dorset, a place that is every bit as magical as the home of my childhood. Our home, much like my grandparents’, is filled with magick. Behind our house stands a magnificent oak tree, a true guardian of the land, offering its protection and wisdom. Its roots seem to stretch deep into the Earth, connecting us to the energies of the land and the cycles of nature. The energy of this place is one of balance, grounding, and healing, and it provides a sanctuary where I can connect with the natural world on a deeper level.
In addition to the oak, there is a woodland behind our home that I visit frequently. It is a place of solace and peace, where I leave offerings to the fae and other spirits of the land. I feel at home here, as though the very soil beneath my feet carries with it the wisdom of the ages. Often, I meditate in the woodland, allowing its energy to settle within me and guide my work.
My familiar is a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Barney. His gentle soul and intuitive nature make him an ideal companion, and he often sits with me during my rituals and healing practices. Alongside Barney, I have another lively and spirited canine, a cheeky Keeshond named Briar who brings lightness and laughter into our home with his antics.
My family now comprises my husband and our children, who continue to inspire and support me in everything I do. I am immensely grateful for them and the beautiful life we share here in Dorset.
My workshop, affectionately called the “Witch’s Nook,” is a whimsical space where I create potions, craft magical tools, and work on the healing practices that form the foundation of Ivy Moon. It’s a space filled with energy—every jar of herbs, every crystal, and every tool holds its own purpose. It’s a place where I connect with the energies of the land and the universe, and from here, I offer my services to those seeking healing, guidance, and magickal support.
Through Ivy Moon, I help others in Dorset, Somerset and Devon clear energetic blockages, release ancestral trauma, and embrace their authentic selves. Healing is about much more than just releasing what no longer serves us—it is about cultivating a life full of love, abundance, and transformation. The work I do is rooted in the land, the elements, and the deep magick that flows through the veins of the Earth. As I guide you through your healing journey, we work together to reconnect with your true self, bringing empowerment, clarity, and strength.
This process is deeply transformational, helping you to embrace your self-love and honour your inner strength. Through Ivy Moon, you will find a renewed sense of self-worth, allowing you to create strong, healthy boundaries and heal emotional wounds from the past. My aim is to provide a safe space for you to explore and release any lingering energies that no longer serve you. By embracing this process of release and renewal, you can close old chapters and move forward with confidence, purpose, and a deep sense of inner peace. Every step of this journey is about empowerment—allowing you to step into your full potential and embrace the magick that has always been within you. I am here to guide you every step of the way, as you uncover the powerful, healing force that resides deep within your own heart.
